The FCC today released the Funding Year 2009 Eligible Services List for the E-rate program. This document provides a guide for E-rate stakeholders about the types of products and services that will be eligible for discounts through the E-rate program for the 2009 Funding Year. The 2009 Eligible Services List is identical to the 2008 Eligible Services List as the FCC has declined to adopt any changes proposed by USAC or the public during the commenting period.
The FCC has also authorized USAC to open the annual Form 471 Filing Window no earlier than Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The Form 471 Filing Window is the time period in which schools and libraries that wish to participate in the E-rate program request discounts for the 2009 Funding Year which runs from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
An announcement is expected soon from USAC that specifies the opening and closing dates of the Form 471 Filing Window.
