In the latest wave of funding decisions for FY 2008, the SLD issued commitments totaling $29.51 million for 665 applicants across the country. This brings the total of commitments for the upcoming funding year to over $589 million. Like all previous waves for the upcoming funding year, all commitments are for Priority One services. The SLD expects to be able to begin issuing commitments for Priority Two services in the coming weeks.
Priority One services fall within the Telecommunications Services and Internet Access service categories. Priority Two services are in the Internal Connections and Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections categories.
The SLD is continuing to issue weekly waves for Funding Year 2007, with almost $38 million in commitments awarded to applicants this week.
