The SLD notified over 500 applicants and over 500 service providers about the status of their FY 2007 applications, committing $43 million. Of the amount committed, $19 million for was Priority Two requests. The SLD has committed nearly $1.4 billion and has $2.17 billion pending for FY 2007. USAC has not determined if the Funding Year 2007 Priority Two discount threshold of 83% will be lowered to allow additional applicants access to funding in the Internal Connections and Basic Maintenance service categories.
Also this week, one school district in Florida received a Funding Year 2005 Internal Connections commitment letter for $633,000. With this Funding Year 2005 commitment, the total pending for the year, which ended on June 30, 2006, is just over $200 Million–the majority of which represents requests in the Priority Two service categories. The table below shows the amount by discount rate and service category that is currently pending for Funding Year 2005. In the table, numbers highlighted in red represent requests that fall below the Funding Year 2005 Priority Two discount percentage threshold of 80% and will ultimately be denied.
