The SLD notified 730 applicants and 567 service providers about the status of their 2006 requests committing $22.5 million. The SLD has committed $604,683,235 and has $2,831,453,884 pending. Several applicants were denied funding because “…a substantial number of the Letters of Agency or other documentation authorizing the filing of the Form 471 did not cover the current funding year. “ The SLD also denied applicants in this wave because “…a substantial number of the Letters of Agency or other documentation authorizing the filing of the Form 471 were not signed before the 471 Certification Postmark Date.”

The SLD for the first time in over a month released a 2005 funding wave. However, the SLD only committed $1,049,425.97 of which $752,091.52 was for priority two funds at the 84% discount rate and above. There is no indication when the discount rate will be lowered and the SLD still has $357,583,811.78 pending for priority two discounts below the 84% threshold.
