On October 19 the SLD sent 357 applicants and 330 service providers' letters notifying them the status of their 2005 E-rate applications. The SLD committed $10.7 million with $2 million being committed for internal connections requests. This was the second 2005 funding wave that consisted of internal connections discounts at 90%. The total 2005 committed amount is $872 million while $2.28 billion is still pending and $436 million has been rejected to date.
On October 18 the SLD committed $280,000 in a 2004 funding wave. The SLD has committed $2.29 billion in 2004 with $273 million still pending.
