The Schools and Libraries Division announced Sept. 29 that it was issuing another 271 funding commitment letters for the third year of the E-rate program, totaling nearly $180 million. That brings to $1.9 billion the amount it has committed so far, or nearly 84 percent of the maximum amount it could commit.
In the latest wave, number 23, commitments averaged more than $660,000. There was no change in the threshold for approved internal connections requests as it remained at the 82 percent discount rate level.
