In the fifteenth week of rolling out funding commitments, the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) released approval for $26.4 million in requests on July 21, down more than $20 million from last week's $46.7 million. The threshold for internal connections has not dropped from 85 percent in weeks as the SLD inches its way toward the $2.25 billion dollars budgeted for Program Year 3. Slightly more than $1.1 billion has been committed to date. Even when taking into consideration that some money will be held back for appeals, and a small portion for administrative costs, the SLD is still barely passed the halfway point. Several more waves will be needed to complete the funding commitment process for Program year 3, which began July 1.
