Schools and libraries with discount levels as low as 86% will begin receiving internal connections funding commitments in this week's funding wave, announced the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) on May 5. The cutoff for internal connections had remained at 88% for the past two weeks, barring schools and libraries with lower discount rates from receiving any E-rate funding for the internal connections category.
In the smallest of the waves this year, this week's funding commitments totaled only $45 million. To date, nearly $351 million in commitments have been made in Year Three, representing about 15.6 percent of the total $2.25 billion in the Universal Service Fund for this year.
