Invitation to Vendors to Participate in Workshop

The Schools and Libraries Corporation invites all vendors and service providers

The Schools and Libraries Corporation invites all vendors and service providers participating in the Universal Service Program for Schools and Libraries – the E-rate- to an in-person, hands-on, two-day workshop to be held November 11, 1998 (8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) through November 12, 1998 (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). The workshop will take place at GTE World Headquarters in Irving, Texas. This in-person workshop is part of a series of SLC vendor training opportunities that also includes numerous conference calls and two videoconferences (see complete schedule on the SLC Web Site in the Service Provider Area, or via fax-on-demand, 800-959- 733, document #702.

The event will be an opportunity for you as a vendor to learn all about the next steps you'll need to take once E-rate funding commitments are made this fall. You will interact with SLC staff and with your industry colleagues on topics such as integrating E-rate discounts into your billing system, invoicing the SLC, and reimbursing your customers for discounts on bills they have already paid.

In addition, you may have a special opportunity to interact with national and state education technology leaders via remote link on the afternoon of November 11.

Attendance at the conference will be capped at 250 in total, so we would request that each company send no more than two representatives. Since space is limited, you must let us know via RSVP (see below) if you plan to attend. There is no charge for the conference itself, and some meals (light breakfast both days, box lunch on Wednesday) will be provided. Participants will need to cover their own travel and lodging costs. See below for hotel suggestions and directions to the site.
