Since the Form 471 filing window has been extended by 8 days, so too has the de facto Form 470 deadline which was originally set for January 14. Any Forms 470 on or before January 22 may now be used on Funding Year 2010 applications, provided all of the provisions of the 28-day posting period, vendor selection process, and certification requirements are completed according to established E-rate regulations.
By my count, 138 Forms 470 were posted; representing 36 states, Washington D.C., and the Northern Marianas Islands. These Forms 470 were posted between January 15 and January 22. Let’s hope that these applicants take advantage of this filing window extension, if their original intent was to use their Forms 470 on Funding Year 2010 applications.
