On March 30, 2011, USAC submitted their Semi-Annual Audit Report to the Federal Communications Commission. As required by the FCC’s Fifth Report and Order, USAC must submit a semi-annual report to the FCC summarizing the status of all outstanding audit findings. The report details the process the SLD utilizes to recover improperly disbursed funds, and also provides a summary of audits that may lead to the recovery of already committed funds.
Highlights from the report include:
USAC has conducted 1,119 audits, up 10 since September 2011.
The amount recovered is $45.13 million, up $3 million since September 2011.
The reported balance remaining to be recovered is $178 million, down $21 million since September 2011.
