On November 12, 2012, Funds For Learning provided a letter to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski containing over 1,700 signatures of parents, community members, and E-rate stakeholders in support of an increase in the annual E-rate funding cap.

Sometimes “half” is a good thing – half price, half the calories, half the time, a glass half full optimism. However, when it comes to bridging the digital divide and meeting the rising demand for internet access in our nation’s schools, having only half of the available funding available for E-rate applicants is a bad thing.

Who has spring fever? The Form 471 deadline has passed, spring is here, the school year is almost over, and it’s time to think about summer vacation plans, right? Unfortunately, as anyone involved with E-rate knows, the E-rate is a 365 day program.
