On May 2, 2014, the Federal Communications Commission announced that $200 million will be carried forward from previous funding years into Funding Year 2014. In its Public Notice, the FCC acknowledged that the requested amount for priority one services alone is $126 million above the $2.4 billion funding cap and the rollover amount is needed to ensure that all priority one applications get funded. The FCC notice did not specify if they would consider funding priority two projects in FY 2014 at a later date.
