388 applications have been submitted so far during USAC’s “soft launch” of its EPC Form 471 application tool. USAC has been diligently gathering feedback from early filers, actively reaching out and engaging schools and libraries for their reaction to the new tool. In the coming weeks, USAC is expected to encourage more applicants to file their forms.
In addition to USAC’s own outreach efforts, there are a number of other venues for applicants to share their EPC feedback. This past week, AASA launched a “suggestion box” for individuals to drop their comments and ideas via a Google docs form. There is also an EdWeb forum dedicated to sharing tips and challenges associated with EPC. Finally, Twitter, using the #erate hashtag, can be a useful resource to directly hear from other users of the system.
