On March 21, 2017, the E-rate program hit a new disbursement milestone. While most acknowledge the E-rate program still needs additional process reform, it is important to also acknowledge that thanks to the FCC’s E-rate Modernization Order, the SLD has now disbursed $2.51 billion for funding year 2015. Funds For Learning has chronicled the FY 2015 success in terms of the speed of commitments and disbursements. The previous disbursement record was in FY 2010 where the SLD disbursed $2.4 billion.
