The SLD announced that the FY2018 Form 471 Filing Window will open on Thursday, January 11 and close Thursday, March 22 at 11:59 PM EDT, which is 71 days. In addition, the EPC profiles will be locked down as of January 10, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST. The FY2018 Form 471 Filing Window dates are in stark contrast to FY2017 where the Window did not open until February 27 and closed on May 11. Applicants who have not started their E-rate procurement cycle are advised to start the process and must wait a minimum of 28 days before entering into an agreement once the Form 470 is posted.
In a nationwide survey of 1,096 applicants, the month of March was the most popular month for the close of the filing window.
