As of July 4, 2021, and despite having launched less than two months ago, the FCC’s Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program has enrolled 3,336,425 households, according to USAC. The high demand for this program illustrates the significant need that exists to deliver broadband connections into communities.
The EBB is a companion program to the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) and E-rate program for schools and libraries. All of these programs have a single mission: closing the digital divide, the gap that exists between those who have an internet connection and those who do not.
