On August 27, 2021 the FCC notified USAC that there is available funding to fund every Category One and Category Two Form 471 eligible application. The FCC stated that the funding cap for FY2021 is $4.27 billion plus USAC has an additional $500 million in unused funds from previous years that are available if needed to fund all the applications. USAC estimates the total demand for FY2021 will be $3.03 billion, which includes estimated demand for Category one services of $1.69 billion and of $1.34 billion for category two services.
