E-rate stakeholders are asked to consider signing a petition in support of local competitive bidding rules. The petition is an open letter to the heads of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), asking them to stop the proposed federal takeover of procurement for Internet access and networking equipment for K-12 schools and community libraries. Instead, the FCC is encouraged to focus on updates to the E-rate eligible services list and the efficacy of its online application portal. The FCC should be considering offering support for cybersecurity and reliable internet access via an improved application system, not trying to overhaul 21,000 different sets of procurement rules.
Please let the FCC know what you think. Consider signing the petition today. The petition is available online at https://www.fundsforlearning.com/e-rate-bidding-process-petition/
