On April 7, 2022, FCC Chairwoman, Jessica Rosenworcel, sent a letter to four members of Congress in response to their letter, dated March 11, 2022, asking the FCC to take steps to ensure its programs are being administered effectively. The members of Congress also made recommendations to ensure Federal Broadband programs are designed to continue shared goals of supporting affordable Broadband access for schools and libraries.
In a letter to members of Congress, Chairwoman Rosenworcel, stated that, “…I share your interest in promoting the efficient administration of the E-rate Program, while protecting against waste, fraud, and abuse.” Additionally, the letter noted that, open and transparent competitive bidding is central to the fair, efficient, and fiscally responsible administration of the E-rate Program.
