On July 26, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission announced the commitment of nearly $55 million in a new funding round through the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) program. The funding commitments supports applications from the third application filing window. According to the Commission, approximately 115,000 students across the nation will benefit from the funding commitments.
To date, the FCC has committed over $6.8 billion to schools and libraries as part of the ECF program. Of the total funding commitments approved to date, nearly $4.14 billion is supporting applications from Window 1; $834 million from Window 2; and $1.84 billion from Window 3.
