On May 23, 2024, USAC announced that their “summer deferral” period starts Friday, May 24. During the deferral period, which runs from the Friday before Memorial Day through the Friday after Labor Day, USAC will automatically place funding applications in a deferred review status if no response is received to Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) inquires issued to applicants during the period. If PIA inquiries were issued prior to May 24, a response is required, and the applications will not automatically be deferred.
USAC reminds applicants that they may restart the review of a deferred application by responding to pending inquiries or contacting their PIA reviewer. Otherwise, the review of deferred applications will start again at the end of the deferral period, Friday, September 6, 2024.
