Summer is almost here! Temperatures are warm, barbeques are fired up, and we’re itching to take off on those vacations we booked months ago. But before we jump into the joys of summer headfirst, here are a few tips to ensure that funding requests are in order as FY2023 draws to a close:
Plan for FY2023 invoices
The service delivery deadline for all recurring services in FY2023 is June 30, 2024. This means that the BEAR and SPI invoice deadline for those services will be 120 days later (October 28, 2024.) Receipt of your June bill for recurring services is a good reminder to make sure that you have invoiced USAC for all recurring services received during FY2023 so that your to-do list can be a little lighter before school starts in the fall!
Finish ECF projects
Since the invoice filing deadline for most remaining funding requests is August 29, 2024, is important that applicants complete their ECF purchases and projects as soon as possible. In addition, applicants should keep in mind that USAC will not be able to extend this deadline, so submitting invoices to USAC before the final deadline is critical. If you have any remaining, un-used ECF funds, it is also a good time to file a Form 500 or contact USAC to return these funds to allow other applicants a chance to wrap up their projects too.
Check the status of fiber projects
For self-provisioned fiber projects, June 30, 2024 is the date by which the fiber must be lit and operational in order for the construction charges to qualify for discounts via a FY2023 funding request. If you have a fiber project that needs an extension, be sure to file your FCC Form 500 by the June 30 deadline.
