On August 27, 2024, the FCC announced that they are seeking nominations for eight Board Member Positions on the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Board of Directors. Each Board Member position is for a three-year term. USAC is the designated vehicle of distribution of the federal Universal Service Fund (USF) by the FCC. It is governed by a board of directors representing a variety of stakeholders. In the Public Notice, the FCC noted that, “…In addition to the six positions that are expiring as a matter of course at the end of this year, the Commission also seeks nominations for two additional vacancies resulting from a resignation and carryover vacancy of USAC Board members.”
Nominations are due October 28, 2024.
The FCC is seeking representatives from:
- Interexchange carriers
- Rural healthcare providers
- State telecommunications regulators
- Incumbent local exchange carriers
- Schools
- Information service providers
