Final Participant List for Cyber Pilot Announced

The FCC has officially announced the selected applicants for the second phase of applications to its Cybersecurity Pilot Program. The FCC received over 2,700 initial applications to the program, with funding requests totaling $3.7 billion. To be considered, applicants submitted Part 1 of the Form 484 by November 1, 2024, to provide basic information about their cybersecurity needs and plans.

Applicants for Part 2

The FCC selected 707 applicants to continue their application to the Cybersecurity Pilot Program. How many students and sites are eligible for the $200 million in funding?

  • Estimated student count: 6,088,273
  • School sites: 13,450
  • Library sites: 834

Key Dates for Part 2

  • FCC Form 470 (Competitive Bidding): Opens January 17, 2025, 8:00 AM ET; closes August 18, 2025, 11:59 PM ET.
  • FCC Form 471 (Request for Discounts): Opens March 18, 2025, 8:00 AM ET; closes September 15, 2025, 11:59 PM ET.
  • FCC Form 484 Part 2 (Additional Cybersecurity Info): Opens January 17, 2025, 8:00 AM ET; closes September 15, 2025, 11:59 PM ET.
  • Withdrawal Deadline: Participants have until July 1, 2025, to withdraw from the program without enforcement action. 
  • Reimbursement Deadlines: A one-time 90-day extension is available within 90 days of the last service date.
