E-rate Updates: Trainings and Cybersecurity Pilot

Training Opportunities

USAC recently completed two in-person E-rate training events and is expanding its offerings this fall with a series of online webinars. The in-person sessions provided applicants and service providers with hands-on learning and networking opportunities. For those unable to attend, a full slate of webinars covering topics such as program basics, competitive bidding, and invoicing are now scheduled. Details and registration are available on USAC’s sites for regional trainings and webinars.

Cybersecurity Pilot Program

The filing window for the FCC’s new Cybersecurity Pilot Program officially closed on September 15, 2025. While no details have yet been released regarding the volume or scope of applications submitted, the program represents a significant step in addressing K-12 cybersecurity needs through federal support. Applicants and stakeholders alike are eager for more information, and continued transparency from the FCC will be key to understanding the demand and potential impact of this pilot.

Funds For Learning will continue to monitor both developments and provide updates as new information becomes available.
