The Schools and Libraries Division said Aug. 20 that it had distributed another 1,061 funding commitments totaling $50.4 million to E-rate applicants for the 1999-2000funding year.
Since it started approving Year 2 applications in early July, the SLD has approved commitments totaling $478.5 million, or about 21 percent of the total it has available to distribute.
The latest wave gave a larger proportion of money to members of consortia – 17 percent of the total compared with the 5 percent they had averaged in the previous waves.
