The Schools and Libraries Division said May 12 that it had distributed another $39.4 million worth of funding commitments this week in 1,503 letters to applicants. This week's Wave 5 made no change in the threshold for approved internal connections, currently at 86 percent.
That brings the total amount of funds committed so far to about $390 million, or 17 percent of the $2.25 billion at which the program is capped. The fifth wave represented the smallest since the SLD began issuing commitments for Year 3 on April 14.
The SLD has notified applicants who requested internal connections at discount rates of 80 percent or below that those projects will not qualify for support this year. The ultimate threshold will fall somewhere between 86 percent and 81 percent.
