The Schools and Libraries Division appeared to pick up its pace as it released Wave 9 of the Year 3 E-rate funding commitments on June 9. The SLD issued 1,054 commitment letters totaling $103.2 million, doubling the amount committed the week before. So far, the SLD has committed about 31 percent of the money it has available for the third funding year.
There was no change in the approved threshold for internal connections requests. The SLD said it expected to issue "several more waves" in the weeks ahead. The third funding year starts on July 1, 2000.
