The Schools and Libraries Division announced June 28 that it was about to release another $114.2 million worth of funding commitments covering telecommunications services and Internet access for the 2002 funding year, which starts on July 1. That brings the total committed for that year to $618.2 million.
The SLD said it could provide no new information about requests for internal connections, which are still pending for applicants qualifying for a discount rate of 80 percent or higher.
