The Schools and Libraries Division announced that on May 18 it will release 44 E-rate funding commitment letters, representing over $20 million in commitments, to applicants for the 2003 funding year. The funding letters averaged $450,000 worth of commitments each. This latest wave, number 29, brings the SLD’s total funding year 2003 commitments to over $2.5 billion.
The SLD said it will continue to issue funding commitments for 2003 on a regular basis until the process is complete. In 2002, that work was not wrapped up until late June.
