This week, USAC issued the 43rd commitment decision wave for the Funding Year. In this wave, 33 applicants were notified about $16.2 Million in funding commitments. The largest commitments were issued to Hartford School System in Connecticut, which received just over $3.4 Million in funding commitments.
The amount committed by USAC is indicative of the other waves issued during this time of the funding year. Of the $1.2 Billion that is awaiting a funding commitment decision, almost $300 Million is for Priority Two services at or below the 80% discount rate. On December 4, 2007, Funds For Learning reported that USAC has recommended denying any Priority Two request at or below 80% due to the lack of available E-rate to fulfill these requests. As of this writing, the FCC has approved USAC to issue rejections at 79% and below.
This is the 42nd funding wave for Funding Year 2007. To learn more about this wave, and all other E-rate funding waves, visit the Funds For Learning's Wave Report Repository on ErateManager.com.
