The eighth funding wave for the upcoming E-rate year brings the total of commitments to over $613 million. The 2008 funding year, which starts on July 1, 2008, will be the E-rate program's eleventh since the inception of the program. In this wave, 654 applicants received commitment decisions in which $24 million of funding was awarded.
To date, USAC has issued funding commitments only for Priority One services of Telecommunications Services and Internet Access Services. USAC has not yet been authorized by the Federal Communications Commission to begin issuing decisions for Priority Two services.
