Happy New (Funding) Year!

Funding Year 2010 starts today!  To date, 15,834 applicants have received a funding commitment totaling $711,638,504 while $32,845,734 has been denied. $3.4 billion is still pending a decision by USAC and represents 11,649 applicants.

Even though this day isn’t marked with parades and a day off from work, we are still excited about what the new funding year has in store and want to share some resolutions for you on this New Funding Years Day.

Don’t Procrastinate

If you have a funding commitment (FCDL) please remember to confirm the status of your technology plan approval and don’t forget to file your Form 486. The 486 triggers the actual payment of discounts to service providers and it certifies that you have received approval for your school’s technology plan.

Get Organized

Want to get a head start on your FY 2011 applications? Even though the window to apply for funding is relatively short, schools may conduct their procurement processes at any time during the year to establish contracts under which discounts for eligible products and services may be requested during the next application cycle. Just be sure to conduct a fair and open competitive process that complies with E-rate rules as well as your state and local procurement laws.

Reduce Stress

Do you find it impossible to track the ever-changing E-rate rules and Regulations? Are you a Technology Director that wants to be sure your technology staff dealing with the E-rate understands eligibility issues? Funds For Learning has the tools you need to navigate the complexities of the E-rate Program. With tools such as E-rate training webinars, the award-winning E-rate Manager and E-rate consultancy services, Funds For Learning has the experience and expertise needed to help you through the new funding year.
