The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation has postponed the Nomination Hearing on Michael O’Rielly to be FCC Commissioner. The Senate Commerce Committee already held a hearing on the nomination of Thomas Wheeler to be the next FCC Chairman; however, the full Senate has yet to vote to confirm Wheeler’s nomination. This delay is due to the fact that Congress has yet to pass a budget to fund the federal government and the fiscal year started on October 1, 2013. The FCC currently has three confirmed FCC Commissioners.
