On December 6, 2013, the Federal Communications Commission Office of Inspector General (OIG) released their Semi-Annual Report to Congress, which covers activity from April 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013. Much of the OIG’s work is tied to “investigating and supporting civil and criminal prosecutions” of fraud in the four Universal Service programs.
The FCC OIG’s office is continuing to work on a project focusing on reviewing “recent and proposed reforms that affect achievement of program goals and the vulnerability of the program resources…” The OIG expects this report to be released by the next reporting period.
