Digital Promise, a technology and research organization, has announced their support for FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler’s plan for E-rate reform and is calling for E-rate stakeholders to join them in backing the proposal.
In Karen Cator’s blog article, the Digital Promise CEO highlights three aspects of the proposal as the key factors drawing their support:
- Funding for Wi-Fi connectivity
- Lower broadband prices through cost transparency
- Simplified application process for multi-year or low dollar applications
While encouraging the adoption of the Chairman’s proposed E-rate reform order, Cator affirms that E-rate modernization efforts must continue beyond this initial step. You can find the full blog entry and a link to show support to the proposed order here.
