In a formal letter submitted to the FCC, Funds for Learning® has joined the Alliance for Excellent Education and eight other education and technology groups in support of Chairman Wheeler’s E-rate modernization proposal. Noting that the Chairman’s proposal is a “critical first step” in modernizing the E-rate program, the groups support the changes to the program as a means to ensure schools and libraries nationwide have access to funding for broadband and Wi-Fi technology for their constituents.
A vote for Chairman Wheeler’s proposed reforms is on the agenda for the FCC July 11th open meeting.
