On September 2, 2017, commitments for FY2017 reached $1 billion milestone. Last year, in September, the SLD had committed $407 million for FY2016. Similar $1 billion commitment milestone, for FY2016, was attained on November 15, 2016. This is an improvement over last year, however, pre-EPC, the SLD hit the $1 billion in commitment milestone for FY2015 on August 15, 2015. By late September 2015, $2 billion had been committed for FY2015. The SLD continues to improve their processes and procedures to better meet the goals and objectives that the FCC put in place for the E-rate Modernization Order.
