High-quality Internet is an essential element for educating students; and local schools, communities and states work hard to secure these connections. However, information about available services and pricing can be difficult to find, and even harder to compare. Limited transparency, combined with a lack of apples-to-apples comparison points, makes effective decision making very difficult. With limited budgets, how can schools get the best Internet connections for their students if they, themselves, lack access to vital information? Every K-12 leader should have the information necessary to ensure that students have robust Internet connectivity.
Connect K-12 is a new initiative that will inform state and local leaders about their K-12 broadband options. Connect K-12 continues the work started by EducationSuperHighway. Under the leadership of Connection Nation, Connect K-12 will equip decision makers with pricing and connectivity data that will promote faster and more cost-effective solutions, and will offer this support at no charge.
