On October 13, 2020, the Federal Communications Commission announced that $1,366,378 had been committed for funding applications submitted during the second Funding Year 2020 filing window. Citing an “enthusiastic response” to the window, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai stated that he was pleased that the Commission “can help more students connect with their schools during the pandemic.”
The second window opened on September 21. As of October 15, more than 1,100 applicants had requested approximately $28M in additional broadband discounts. The window will close at 11:59 EDT on October 16.
