The annual E-rate filing window serves as a barometer for trends in internet access and educational technology resources for K-12 schools and public libraries. This spring’s E-rate application period has ended, and it is clear from this year’s filings that there is strong demand for on-campus computer networking. Referred to as Category Two (“C2”) funding, support for network switches, Wi-Fi equipment, and data cabling has reached record levels. The 2022 C2 funding requests total $2.11 billion in projects, with the E-rate program discounts totaling $1.54 billion.
This demand is driven by a record number of sites requesting a record amount of funding per location. Funds For Learning recently presented a detailed look at the results of the 2022 filing window. Click here to watch the entire presentation.
