On August 30, 2022, the FCC announced that there was sufficient funding available to fully fund USAC’s estimated demand for Category One (C1) and Category Two (C2) E-rate requests for FY2022. USAC estimates the total demand for funding year 2022 will be $3.15 billion, which includes estimated demand for C1 services of $1.64 billion and of $1.51 billion for C2 services. The FCC noted that the E-rate funding cap for FY2022 is $4.46 billion. Additionally, USAC projections, $500 million in unused funds from prior funding years is available for use in E-rate funding year 2022.
