On March 15, 2023, the FCC announced it is committing over $1.7 million in a new funding round through the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) program. The funding commitments supports applications from ECF filing windows 1 and 3. According to the Commission, approximately 5,000 students across the nation will benefit from the funding commitments.
To date, the FCC has committed over $6.6 billion to schools and libraries as part of the ECF program. Of the total funding commitments approved to date, nearly $4.14 billion is supporting applications from Window 1; $833 million from Window 2; and $1.65 billion from Window 3.
