On May 19, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission announced that there was sufficient funding available to fully fund USAC’s estimated demand for Category One (C1) and Category Two (C2) E-rate requests for FY2023. USAC estimates the total demand for funding year 2023 will be $2.944 billion, which includes estimated demand for C1 services of $1.66 billion and of $1.29 billion for C2 services. The FCC noted that the E-rate funding cap for FY2023 is $4.768 billion, with another $440.22 million in unused funds from prior funding years that could be available for use in E-rate funding year 2023.
