Tribal Library and Cost Allocation Changes Approved

On July 20, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission voted to approve a draft Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking making changes to the E-rate program aimed at encouraging participation by Tribal libraries and relaxing cost-allocation requirements for all applicants. In addition, the Commission approved a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that will seek public comment on a wide range of potential rule changes with a goal of streamlining the E-rate application process for schools and libraries.
