On February 6, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission issued an Order granting waivers of service delivery and invoice deadlines to six applicants participating in the Emergency Connectivity Fund program. According to the FCC, the waivers were requested “due to problems with… service providers, challenges posed by personnel changes and departures, new applicant confusion, and other procedural and administrative issues.” In granting the waivers, the Commission notes that they were “in response to various administrative challenges related to remote learning posed by the pandemic,” and that “the ECF program was expressly set up to address such emergency needs.”
