USAC Submits Semi-Annual Audit Recovery Report

On March 29, 2024, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) submitted their Semi-Annual Audit Report to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). As required by the FCC’s Fifth Report and Order, USAC must submit a semi-annual report to the FCC summarizing the status of all outstanding E-rate audit findings. The report details the process that USAC utilizes to recover improperly disbursed funds. It also provides a summary of audits that may lead to the recovery of previously committed funds.

The report noted that there was one beneficiary audit older than six months with a potential recovery of $11,209,646 for which a Notification Letter has not been issued. It also points out that, to date, USAC has transferred $12,766,541 relating to 50 audits to the U.S. Department of Treasury, pursuant to the DCIA because neither the applicant nor the service provider has repaid the funds to USAC or made satisfactory arrangements for payment of the debt.

The semi-audit report may be found here.
