One Month, Three Funding Years

It is a wonderful time of the year, when the broiling heat of summer peaks across the country and students of all ages return to classes, marking their new foray into the new year. August is the transition boundary between wrapping up the previous funding year, planning for the next one, and procurement for the current one.

How do can you approach FY23, FY24, and FY25 all at once? Let’s dive into what you should consider or complete for each funding year.

First up is FY2023: July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024.

Here are the key items to keep in mind:

  • Invoicing for any pertinent BEARs is due. Most have an LDI (Last Day to Invoice) of October 28th, 2024. If you have yet to send in your invoices to get them on a BEAR, now is the perfect time to do so.
  • Additionally, ECF is wrapping up on August 29. Now is the time to wrap up any loose ends!

Next is FY2024: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025.

  • New services freshly installed or contracted should have sent out their first invoice (for July) by now.
  • For those of you who wish BEARs to be filed quarterly, this also applies. No need to wait until November to send the first three months on over!

Finally, let’s look at FY2025: July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.

  • The start of a new E-rate cycle is upon us! Now is the time to begin planning for procurement. What does your organization need?

During the hustle and bustle of the school starting back up, this is your reminder to take a few minutes and evaluate what your organization needs to wrap up for FY23, accomplish for FY24, and plan for FY25.
