USAC Training Recap: Fayetteville Arkansas 2024

On October 28th, three members of Funds for Learning attended the USAC training in Fayetteville, an event filled with valuable insights for E-rate applicants. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group of participants eager to explore the latest updates and best practices in the E-rate program. The collaborative atmosphere encouraged discussions about funding strategies and new opportunities, underscoring the importance of staying informed in the ever-evolving landscape of the program.

With a significant number of library applicants present, the training placed a strong emphasis on Wi-Fi hotspots, which are becoming essential for many organizations. As more groups recognize the need for reliable internet access, discussions surrounding funding for these hotspots provided crucial information. Participants learned how to effectively leverage E-rate resources to enhance their services, and provided an in depth look at the filing process. USAC offered training on multiple subject throughout an applicant’s filing, emphasizing best practices along the way. Each session also offered an “open forum” style question and answer portion. This allowed many attendees to bring specific issues they have run in to the forefront and allow for very targeted answers to many problems.

In addition to the structured sessions, the training provided our team with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with clients. We had meaningful conversations with representatives about their specific needs for the upcoming filing window, allowing us to tailor our support and guidance accordingly. By fostering these direct connections, we can better understand the challenges our clients face and work collaboratively toward effective solutions, ultimately enhancing the impact of the E-rate program nationwide.
